What is Blood Dungeon?

Blood Dungeon is a 2D platforming autoshooter by Messhof, the two-person Venice studio behind Nidhogg, Flywrench and Wheel World. It released on 25 August 2026 across Steam, Xbox Series with Game Pass, PS5, Switch and Switch 2 at $9.99. Your weapons fire on their own; your job is to run, jump and climb — walls, ceilings, chains, grates and water are all traversable with no stamina cost — while a compounding horde tries to occupy the same space.

Messhof lists 9 unlockable bunkmates, 6 arenas, 100+ enemy types, 100+ quests and 100+ weapons and upgrades. Almost none of that is documented anywhere official, so this site reconstructs what is checkable: the 7 bunkmates that can actually be sourced, the six-arena unlock chain stated in plain text by the achievement list, the Bone Shop economy, every named weapon, spell and charm, and all 45 achievements with their live global unlock rates. Where a number cannot be sourced, the page says so instead of guessing.

Every level-up offers one card per slot. The right-hand panel is the 16-stat sheet.

Locked doors want a key of the same colour, which turns a run into a hunt.

Get Started in 5 Steps

  1. Learn one arena, not one run. Layouts are fixed — only spawns and pickups move. Start in Catacombs and treat map knowledge as permanent progression. All six arenas.
  2. Have a core build before level 10. Blood is cheap early and expensive after level 10, so decide what is carrying your damage while levels are still flowing. How the card slots work.
  3. Move to aim. Weapons auto-target the closest thing, so your position is the crosshair. Standing behind chaff wastes whole bursts. Enemy behaviour rules.
  4. Beat one first boss, unlock the next arena. You never need a full clear to see something new — the chain runs Catacombs to Flood. The unlock ledger.
  5. Spend bones between runs. Buy ten items at the Bone Shop and you unlock the bunkmate Baby along the way. Bones, gold and the Dogmancer.

FAQ

Is Blood Dungeon the same as Blood Dungeon in Ultima Online, or the Bloodsauce Dungeon in Pizza Tower?

No. This site covers Messhof's 2026 game, a 2D platforming autoshooter released 25 August 2026. "Blood Dungeon" is also a location name in Ultima Online, and searches for it often collide with Bloodborne's chalice dungeons and Darkest Dungeon's Blood — none of which are this game.

Does Blood Dungeon have codes?

No. It is a single-player premium game with no redemption system. Any site listing "Blood Dungeon codes" is either describing a different game — Iron Blood is the usual mix-up — or making them up.

Is Blood Dungeon on Xbox Game Pass?

Yes. The Xbox store listing shows it as included with Xbox Game Pass, and Messhof's own release trailer description lists Game Pass among the launch platforms. See the platforms page for the rest.
